Happy Birthday to me…
They get a little more frightful these birthday things!….the number rises (41)…a little bit of inner panic sets in before it subsides again in the smile’s of my children who appear to be enjoying it more than me.
My birthday today 28th April I share with Jay Leno, Penelope Cruz, Jessica Alba and barman I met in New York on this date last year.

It is difficult to see myself as a 40 something I must admit….but I have double checked the birth certificate….and it’s a fact….I am officially a forty something!!
The plans for tonight have all been arranged by my 8 year old daughter…she is meticulous in all she takes on I must say….even if its arranging birthday celebrations for the over 40’s!!

Uniform Fetish My fetish for ladies in uniform was tickled this week by the successful New York design team AvroKO. Now we all go to restaurants, and our attention is always taken by these smart dressed waiting staff that work in them. I don’t know of any restaurants in Dublin that have what you would call a sexy, smart uniform (no TGI Fridays is not sexy!!)…if you do know of one…let me know….and we’ll do lunch there?

This design team are influenced by turn-of-the-century nurses uniforms and 50s stewardesses. I like their style.
The sample images of the uniforms I have uploaded along side this post are from the Mona & Holly collection, and as you can see for yourself they are sleek, smart and who knows…maybe worn outside of the restaurant as well?

When I found out about this AvroKO….I was reading a review that appeared in a wonderfully titled restaurant trade magazine called…Eat Me Daily!! And as THEY put it…. Design collective AvroKO, best known for their work designing restaurants like NYC's Public, Stanton Social, and Quality Meats, like to have their hand on everything. Their tip-to-toe approach to restaurant design extends from the wall treatments to typeface design to bathroom hand towels — so it's no surprise to hear that they're branching out into fashion, with a capsule collection for the line Mona & Holly.
The uniform-like dresses, priced from $75 to $365, will be worn by hostesses at the design team's own restaurants Public and Double Crown, and will also be carried by certain undoubtedly very hip boutiques in New York, Chicago, and Dallas.
I find all this to be a much more of a classy approach to uniforms for waiting staff, the ladies look very smart and sexy…I must say I do prefer a classier restaurant too….none of this ‘Hooters’ style thing for Paolo thanks….. Give me a sharp dressed ‘uniform’ wearing lady to bring me my dinner please….oh and…please let her get the order wrong… and to make amends…. accept an over the knee spanking….,
Paolo would tip well for that kind of service!

Can you claim to be….”The face, and bum, of the new reality?
Well I know a girl that can. Kristi Kuudisiim is a 25 year old Estonian model who is doing really well for herself here in Dublin, in a recent Irish newspaper article she explains her plans to improve the shape of her bottom. Rain returns to my ‘summer in Dublin’….back to normal in other words. I have not had spanking on my mind much at all in the last week; I find travelling gives me much more to think about. Rome was great, the time with the misses was great, and I am a lucky man to have such an understanding woman.

QUESTION: I am not worried about losing my husband but I do have mixed emotions that it takes him away from us and our family. I thought it would be once or twice every couple of months. Rome was wonderful, and already I am looking forward to my next break away in May. Life is for living as they say!! Dublin will finally get an IKEA store much to the delight of my wife, my visa card sweats openly as the July opening date gets closer. It is interesting to note the change in life here in Dublin after the recession has bitten it’s arse…Ikea have spoken about the 4,000 people who queued at the Ballymun Civic Centre to inquire about 280 entry-level jobs at this new Ikea!!
In my absence some lucky dude has won our Lotto…and what a week to win it…the winning jackpot had reached 14 million euro!! A Mad Woman I Like and a story of Westgate

My latest adventures took me to “Laurie’s Ramblings of a Mad Woman”, there is lots I like about Laurie. We share the same hatred for texting, and driving is not on our favourite list of things to do. As I write this (16/04/09) she celebrates her 51st birthday, I must leave a bit of a comment to wish her well.
On her blog you will find an interesting posting entitled “Labels”, Laurie speaks of the labels we all wear in our lives; she mentions a get together she used to attend in Chicago where they gave you a sticky label when you entered, on this label you put your name and your persuasion, dominant, slave, submissive, master etc.
As a person who has never been at a ‘labelling’ party... I found all this to be fascinating.
I was never one to wear neither my favourite football teams shirt, nor my favourite bands t-shirt, I have to say that I always tried to be as inconspicuous as possible, I just felt uncomfortable with people knowing my business after just one glance.
But Laurie’s point that it is these labels we give ourselves in life do indeed define the person we are, and the sort of people we attract into our lives, I for one can see how my reluctance to wear a ‘label’ for most of my life has got me where I am today, I never wanted to be part of anyone else’s ‘gang’….I never wanted ‘you’ to know who or what I am….and to be honest…I find writing this information down here now…..with the intention of posting it online for anybody in the world to read…. to be yet another one of my wonderful ‘contradictions’

'Classroom' uncovered in swoop on suspected city centre brothel
The U.K. authorities have dropped all proceedings against Westgate Old School in Wakefield. When screams were heard coming from behind a locked door, police swooped and arrested two women on suspicion of running a brothel for personal gain.
Now although I have never been to Wakefield, never mind Westgate Old School, I do know about it. It seems to me to be a pretty useful place for ‘school role-play’ spankos like myself to go. So I am glad to hear the proceedings were dropped, good luck to all involved.

Spring Clean

Ah yes…nothing like a bit of spring cleaning and a lick….of paint, just as I am busy brightening up my home at the moment, I have decided to brighten up the blog as well, a new template, a new brighter style and with much improved writing….well steady on, one thing at a time!!

The blog like before will include Paolo’s own ‘personal’ internet time, which usually includes trips to other blogs just like your own. I love to read personal blog postings of other peoples ‘spanking’ lives, none of that ‘professional’ promotional blog stuff for me thanks.

I use this personal online time to update my three different blogs, the first being my ‘Music blog’, music being a true love of mine. I just have to read about, and listen to everything, every new band, every new style,
The second blog is an Irish ‘Business blog’, I just cant get enough information about what goes on in this city that I live in, and the blogs are a great source of information, be it biased or not, it is still information.

The third blog you are reading now. As a man who is not in any sort of permanent spanking relationship, and to be honest, not likely to be in one at anytime soon, I still enjoy reading about others who are in these kind of relationships. I read many of these blogs, some are well written, informative, humorous and some can even be quite erotic….so why would I not read them!

Writers On The Move
On my internet travels this week I dropped in on Abel & Haron’s wonderful ‘Spanking Writers’ blog. They are moving house this week, and I was entertained by what Abel referred to as their belongings being suitably de-kinked , with spanking implements carefully hidden from the prying eyes of any removal man. I myself have moved house on two occasions in the last 12 years, and while I had no implements to hide, I did have videos and some literature that I preferred to keep to myself.
What would one do if someone discovered your ‘kink’ belongings at your home or has it ever happened to you?

I got the impression from reading Abel’s posting that the move was either going well for them, or that maybe he was just taking things in his stride. Moving house is a stressful experience; in fact I believe it should come with a government health warning. If something can go wrong….it usually does. I have only recently gotten over my last move…of 5 years ago ;)

Dante’s Easter Rising
I quite enjoyed Dante’s Easter posting ‘Easter also signifies the rising of blood pressure’. I too grew up in a Catholic household, although I did not have any devout Catholic relatives like Dante, I felt a bit smothered by the whole thing. I was also guilty of redirecting money from the church collection plate to the ‘Snuff Box’ candy shop at the end of Cederwood Road. This money would get me ‘Black Jacks’, Fruit Salads’ and Macaroon bars so I could munch my way to Hell…with my rotting teeth!

I can identify with Dante’s desire to get answers to from is aunt, who by virtue of being a nun, should have all those mind boggling questions every kid has at that age. Let’s face
It some of the Catholic Church claims are extremely illogical and frankly hard too believe. But hey, we were only kids, why should we ask these questions?
I can remember been caned for messing about with words on the blackboard during a dinner break, the words were something to do with the Ten Commandments, it was not that I didn’t believe in them, but at 11 years of age, I wasn’t going to ‘murder’ anyone was I…well not without asking first!!

I think everybody’s mood needs a little lifting these days. All this talk of recession is getting to us all. My reason for avoiding all things ‘recession’ is working out for the better, I am gone 3 days now without giving a flying f*ck about it. On reading Princesses blog I was glad to hear her mentioning moving on in her ‘over it' posting. To be fair to Princess she did have good reason to rant when as she put it ‘people seem to come into my life just walk away after I’ve given them what they want, need, or would like to have.’ Now we all have had that sort of experience in our lives, there is always a ‘someone’ to take…and take, but not so keen on giving.
Princess says she’s ready to stop shutting people out, and to start standing up for herself.

A Lazy Maid Problem
There is a lovely Malaysian lady who keeps a blog she calls ‘Passion Mommy’ on blogger, and her recent post entitled “My Super Lazy Maid” caught my attention. At the time of reading her posting, I was busy having salacious thoughts about Kami Robertson. Kami had been recounting her day of shooting for the Northern Spanking people where she had been working on a new movie called…..“The Lazy Maid”.

Could both maids be compared?…..I don’t think so, because after reading the list ‘crimes’ of the lazy maid that Passion Mommy was talking about I’m sure we are not matching like with like.

The list of these ‘crimes’ as told by Passion Mommy are;
“When I asked her to bring the washed floor mat to upstairs and hang it at the balcony, she brought it up and hangs it on sofa!!!

“She gives me ignorance”

“She also refused to wash her own clothes; she kept her dirty clothes in her room, and wears it again and again without washing”

“She even used my house phone without approval and she had told us many many stories to cover all her lies”

“She can finish 1 bottle sunlight dishwasher in a week, 1 little floor cleaner in 10 days and her toothbrush need to be change every 2 weeks!”

Well what a naughty maid she was indeed, and I am sure Passion Mommy’s decision to dismiss the maid was had plenty of justification, but….she never tried spanking her! Kami got a thorough spanking from her ‘employer’, and it seemed to work (didn’t it Kami,?)…with jobs hard to come by these days surely a bit of good old fashioned discipline should have been in order, and who knows, this maid might have turned out to be a good employee after all…just like Kami!!!

Good Friday...for some

It’s ‘Good Friday’ today in Ireland…lots of holy stuff going on. We have now reached the Friday preceding ‘Easter Sunday’ which commemorates the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Golgotha. Here in Dublin it is a holiday for Paolo, a holiday that quite a number of Irish people will celebrate not only in the church but, it will be a day spent at your own, or someone else’s house, where they or you, will open up the doors to one and all to party…..obviously after prayers!!!!

At a website called answers.com, it is explained like this….Good Friday; it is startling that this, the most mournful day in the Christian calendar, is a cheerful Bank Holiday, and a traditional date for various games such as skipping and marbles….. Jesus wept! “Skipping and Marbles”…I don’t think so lads…..how about Spanking and Paddling, and a Jack & Coke after??),

I like kissing. Did you know that the first kiss can take a relationship to the next level or kill it right there and then. Sunnier Climates
A good weekend was had. I got to meet up with a friend who travels a lot in his line of work; I use the term ‘work’ there loosely!!. It is travelling that occupies my mind at the moment. I on one hand, am concerned for my job, just like everyone else who is employed in this industry I work in. So it is difficult to look beyond the end of the week, let alone the summer holidays in July. But it will really bug me if I could not escape to sunnier climates this year. People living under Ireland’s rain cloud weather, are in my view, more than entitled to escape the rains....
No matter what month of the year it is in Ireland, the rain can, and will fall in large quantities.

U2 Album
I ‘sort of’ enjoyed the new U2 album. Having been a fan of theirs since the beginning I am not one of those ‘begrudger’ types who put them down at every oppertunity. But having said that, I am unsure about this album , my first impression is that it has been over worked on, too much time in production; I found some songs to be good songs, but a bit hidden beneath heavy production.

Bank Robbery
Now for the record, I was not involved in the 5.8 million euro bank robbery in College Green last Friday, while I could do with the cash, I must say that I have not taken up on that kind of acquiring money just yet. The gardaí recovered some of it in Blanchardstown over the weekend, but not at my house!

Ireland beat England
I thoroughly enjoyed the Ireland/England rugby match on Saturday, the Irish win gave a wonderful lift to everyone suffering in these recessionary times. Watching England and Ireland clash over anything is always entertaining, especially when we win!

I was reading about a horse racing event that took place in New Zealand last Wednesday, “The Jockey Dash Race” took place as part of the 75th anniversary for Jockey Underwear. Ever since I was a wee lad attending boy’s schools here in Dublin, I have known that not all people are the same; even at that young age we begin to form different groups and cliques. We then become a member of one of these groups; the one we think is ‘cool’ for us.

Group-less
Today I find myself in a strange place; you could say that I am ‘group-less’. I have been tempted to go in the past, but I don’t believe there is a lot going on there that would really make it worthwhile for me personally.

I was reading two Harlequin Presents published in the 1980s. One was by Susan Napier and the other by Charlotte Lamb. In both books, the heroine slaps the hero in a rage and the hero hits her back. I think Jo Beverly had a very controversial book wherein the hero hits the heroine. It sparked a huge debate on AAR on the issue of whether physical violence by the hero should ever be considered acceptable in romance books. Even if slapping is not considered kosher these days, plenty of books contain spanking (both sexual and non sexual) and the threats of spanking. Why is hitting someone on the ass more acceptable than on the face?
In any event, I was kind of shocked reading those scenes in the books. I prefer my heroes to be non violent but is there ever a place for physical reaction? Is it wrong to call the slapping “violent”? Should heroines who slap at the heroes expect the same in return? The following is the hero poll. We’ll see how the results shake out.
